Heart of a Royal - Book Review

Megan Southon Book Review Heart of a Royal by Hannah Currie

Hannah Currie's debut novel, Heart of a Royal, surpasses all expectations. Opening the pages of this book is whisking yourself away to another world.

Kenna has lived over seventeen years as a princess, yet always overshadowed by the real princess.

The queen of Peverell, having died giving birth to her daughter, new-born Kenna's mother steps in to care for the royal children. The king promises Kenna and her parents a part of the royal family until his daughter marries.

That day has come, and Kenna is shocked when the king readily throws her out of the palace. She doesn't know who she is outside of the royal life. She's leaving the only home and family she has ever known.

Yet Kenna belatedly realises that there are only a few who want her out of the palace. Most want her as the queen of Peverell, married to Prince Thoraben.

Heart of a Royal truly captures the essence of identity, love and trust. There are so many moments in this book that are simply beautiful...or devastating, which only adds enchantment but reality to the novel.

For a debut novel, Hannah Currie has written a wonderful, emotional story. This book is a truly delightful read for women, teen+, and the next two books in the series can be highly anticipated.
